In less than a week, you can be out on your own -
winding your way down the Arkansas River! |
Rowing in Wichita: It's
for everyone!
- Rowing is one of the
best cardiovascular full-body workouts – a great lifelong
activity
- Easy to learn – in
about four hours of instruction, you’re out on the water
- You
don’t need to be a seasoned athlete, but if you are, you
will continue to be challenged as with the increase in experience,
the shells get leaner, lighter and faster!
- Recreational
or racing against the clock – the level of competitiveness
is your choice
- Teenagers through seniors can enjoy this
activity. The average rowers are professionals, not students,
a large percentage women.
- There is no equipment to buy!
- The
Arkansas River is easily accessible and… great water for
rowing!
The WRA offers
lessons throughout the summer, which are:
- Informal
with a low student/instructor ratio
- Structured just enough
to keep it fun
- Give you the knowledge
and experience to get you on the water quickly and safely
The Wichita Rowing
Association is a volunteer driven, non-profit organization
striving to provide the greater Wichita area access to the
sport of rowing. Give us a call. We’d be happy to tell you more, schedule a time
to show you our equipment, or go out for a row.
Class registration
applies to annual club dues.
Class space
is limited so early enrollment is recommended. An instructor will
call to confirm your enrollment.
