Directions to Frostbite Regatta on Little Arkansas River at the Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Complex on 551 Nims Street:

From Wichita State University or Heskett Center:

Route with fewest Stop Lights (mainly Highway) if pulling trailer

Take 21^st (go west on 21^st from Hillside) to I-135 Exit 9. approx 1 mile

I-135 (go south on I-135) to Kellogg Exit 6A approx 3 miles

Kellogg is also called Highway 54 and Highway 400 in Wichita.

Kellogg (go west on Kellogg) to Seneca . approx 2 miles

Seneca (go north on Seneca) to Central approx 1.1 mile

(Seneca turns east into Central between rivers).

Central (go east on Central) to Nims Street .                        approx 0.2 mile

Go north on Nims and immediately turn from Nims into east driveway entrance of Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Complex, 551 Nims Street. (Also called South Riverside Park).

OR

From Wichita State University or Heskett Center: with multi-stop lights but slightly shorter distance (beware of Wichita traffic and downtown trains on Central)

1) Take 21^st to Hillside (south on Hillside) to Central (go west on Central thru downtown) to Nims/Parking. (Limited Food and Gas, Walgreens along the way).
or 2) Take 21^st to Oliver (south on Oliver) to Central (go west on Central thru downtown) to Nims/Parking. (Some fast food, convenience stores, Phillip 66, Auto Parts Stores, Dillions grocery, Walgreens along the way).

From I-35 Turnpike (Exit 50) at Kellogg (Highway 54)

Rock road is 0.6 miles west from the Turnpike (Exit 50) on Kellogg

Kellogg (go west on Kellogg, past Rock Road) to Seneca Street. approx 6.7 miles

Seneca (go north on Seneca) to Central approx 1.1 mile

Central (go east on Central) to Nims Street .                        approx 0.2 mile

Go north on Nims and immediately turn from Nims into east driveway entrance of Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Complex, 551 Nims Street.

From I-35 Turnpike (Exit 57) in Andover

Take 21^st (go west on 21^st from I-35) to I-135 Exit 9. approx 9 miles

(You will drive by Wichita State University, on 21^st street between Oliver and Hillside on the way to I-135)

I-135 (go south on I-135) to Kellogg Exit 6A approx 3 miles

I-35 to I-135 (you will exit turnpike, pay toll and you will be on I-135 heading north.

I-135 (go north on I-135) to Kellogg Exit 6A. approx 6 miles

Kellogg (go west on Kellogg) to Seneca. approx 2 miles

Seneca (go north on Seneca) to Central approx 1.1 mile

From Westside of Wichita (Or take Kellogg to Seneca to Central to Nims)

Take Central (east on Central) or 13^th (east on 13^th) to N. McLean Blvd.

Take McLean Blvd around river going east to Seneca.

Seneca (north on Seneca) to Central .          approx 0.2 mile          

(Seneca turns east into Central between rivers just past the Mid American Indian Center)

Central (go east on Central) to Nims Street .                        approx 0.2 mile

Go north on Nims and immediately turn from Nims into east driveway entrance of Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Complex, 551 Nims Street.

Additional Parking

Additional Parking is located on Stackman Drive parallel to the Little Arkansas river. In lieu of turning east on Central from Seneca, turn left onto Museum Blvd from Seneca and follow Museum Blvd (100 yards), turn right on to Stackman Drive and park next to the Little Arkansas River. You can cross the south Nims Street Bridge to get to the Finish line.

The Frostbite race course on the Little Arkansas River starts just below the 11^th Street Bridge and ends at the Ralph Wulz complex.

Note to all:

Please do not park on Grass or block gated access roads in the parks.

FYI - There is a North and South Nims Street Bridge and one Murdock Bridge over the race course on the Little Arkansas River. Nims Street runs north and south and changes into Bitting Street just north of the north Nims bridge in North Riverside Park.

 Starting Line Location: Just below 11^th Street Bridge,

To get to Starting line from Tennis Complex: Go north on Nims street crossing “South” Nims Bridge and crossing “North” Nims Bridge then turn east on North Oak Park Drive(east approx 0.6 mile) to reach the starting line at 11^th Street Bridge).

Finish Line Location: Approximately at WRA/WSU rowing ‘compound.’

You can see finish line from Stackman Blvd, with boats stopping at the Wichita Art Museum and approx 500 yards from the dam.  See Course Map.

Watching the Regatta Race Course using the Scenic Route:
Drive, Bike, Walk, Run, Skate from the Finish line with a sidewalk and street beside entire race course on Stackman Drive to West River Blvd, crossing “North” Nims Bridge to North Oak Park Dr. or continue driving on West River Blvd and cross at the 11th Street Bridge to get to the Starting line.
